meet the outdoor yoga team
yoga teachers who inspire
We are a teaching team of dear colleagues, dedicated to the craft of creating exceptional yoga experiences.
We bring our depth of knowledge and expertise, as well as our gifts of relating human to human. We take pride in providing a safe and trusting environment in all our classes, where every individual feels welcomed, supported and valued.
As teachers, we are highly skilled in guiding students of all skill levels through our yoga classes, and we intentionally teach to a beginner/ intermediate level. Advanced students are always welcome to take their practice further on their own.

A coming home to yourself, a safe place to connect with your breath and body as sacred.
Yoga has been instrumental for me in creating an intimate connection with my body, my intuition, and for balancing my nervous system. Our nervous system is our central communication center within our body.. a combination of our thoughts, beliefs, feelings, and biological processes which we can influence through yoga to feel safe, secure and and at home in our bodies. When we feel balanced and regulated, we can expand our range of tolerance and be with depths and beauty within ourselves and the world.
This is what I offer to you through Outdoor yoga practice —
presencing in nature, practicing together in community, sharing of yoga philosophy, and moving the body in way that is precise and structured, according to the teachings of yoga, and yet supple and free and uniquely expressed through your body, as art :)
On the beach and in general I teach a class that balances stretching and strengthening. We move at a slow, steady, and rhythmic pace. My yoga classes are accessible for all levels. You can expect to leave class with a sense of feeling grounded, renewed, inspired and empowered.
We all contain an innate well of inspiration from a place within that is deeply joyful and peaceful. It is my goal to offer a practice that supports you to re-awaken to feeling at home in your body and to your innately beautiful, luminous and dynamic self :)
Come as you are - your body as it is, flexible or not! Your heart as it is, open or closed or a mix of lots of things (most of us!) And as I have witnesses for the last 7 years of teachings classes at the ocean’s edge.. the magic of yoga by the ocean, with our incredibly special community will, I trust, be a super sweet and special experience for you :)

Hmmm… that even though I have been a student of yoga since I was 15, and teaching for 7 years.. I feel more inspired by the teachings and practice now more than ever.
I am a deeply committed student of yoga, and yet.. I have my days, and my moments where I feel off-center . As a business owner, human, friend, partner, friend to myself, it is a dance to play in human form with all of our gifts and limitations. I do my best to balance my desire for growth and expansion with remembering all is right here, right now.

And that we are supported. By community, by the earth under our feet, by our own breath, by our deep connection to our inner peace, by divine guidance, by our teachers..
And, by our own awareness of recommitting to making health and joy a priority in our lives.
A sense of feeling like we are OK.
Even if feeling really “at home” in our bodies doesn’t feel available to us now.
A sense of.. we are OK. We are here, now.
We always have the choice to pause and recenter. Sometimes we need help to do that, for a longer stretch of time.. to really feel a sense of peace in our bodies. That is why I am here, teaching :)
An opening to a curiosity to heal and thrive! To open to our intuition and live in our MAGNIFICENT potential!

My training is life, and is happening every day :) And all of the experience and learnings and beautiful people I have met who have offered me a piece of their heart along the way.
I have trained primarily with Stephanie Snyder and Janet Stone. They are my heart teachers and masterful body teachers, and without their generosity and commitment to the teachings, I don’t know where I’d be!
I have completed two 200hr trainings, my second one with Stephanie, and I have sat with Janet for several 50 hour trainings, including Chanting, Yoga Assisting Training, Restorative Yoga.
I have also studied with Dharma Mitra, Rod Stryker, and Annie Carpenter, and Greg Waiting (SF Reiki Master - highly recommend!) all of whom have deeply influenced my practice.
I also have a degree in holistic healing, nutrition and cooking from the Natural Gourmet Institute in New York, I have studied spiritual and western psychology through many teachers and programs including Eckhart Tolle, Ashley Turner, Marianne Williamson, and Rick Hanson.
My training and practice now is around body intuition.
Understanding the art and science of wisdom and sacred text teachings, asana practice, psychology, astrology, narrative training, reiki, and the healing arts that support our wholeness, healing and evolution!
A question I ask myself regularly.. in big and small decisions..
What will contribute to the most effective and beautiful evolution of my soul?

My yoga classes are rhythmic, soulful, liberating, and powerful. Connect breath, body, and soul with the miraculous, ecstatic, and powerful elements of nature and awaken to the wonder and awe of being alive and embodied! My hope is that our time together will remind you of the medicine that is gratitude, and leave you feeling empowered, wrapped in self-love, & vibrating at your highest frequency.

Many would be surprised to know that I've got a joke ready to go, just hanging out in my back pocket AT ALL TIMES. I experience great joy collecting all the so-bad-they're-good jokes of the world and even more so in sharing them. Laughter is medicine after all😅

Love. Gratitude. Belonging.

My most formative training is in Bhakti Yoga. I study with teachers such as Janet Stone, Stephanie Snyder, Rusty Wells, & Peter Walters just to name a few..
What has informed and inspired my yoga practice the most though, is nature. Nature is the teacher of all teachers.

A steady, grounded & soulful flow with a thoughtful & heart-felt theme effortlessly woven into it.
I like to describe my classes as “where the practical, meets the spiritual.” We will move, sweat, breath and have some fun, too!:)

I used to serve as the Managing Partner of a fun, vibrant nightlife venue/restaurant/bar in San Francisco for many years before teaching yoga full time. I booked DJ's 3 nights a week managed 40 people and produced hundreds of events. I'm grateful for the experience, especially as I transitioned into the rhythm of motherhood.

In no particular order…these are my hopes:)
I hope the practice of yoga inspires:
More self-acceptance
More tolerance of others and the aspects of ourselves we struggle with
An accessible connection to body wisdom and intuition
Compassion
Kindness
Seeing the ONENESS or interconnectedness of it all
A commitment to the foundations of physical health and healthy inquiry as to what health & wellness mean on an individual and collective level.
A willingness to notice when we reach for things (food, devices, substances) to “numb” ourselves
TRUST that we are held by something greater than our individual self
An easy RESET, or “a smooth transition” to an internal landscape of kinder thoughts, words & actions. And, when we fall off “that train”...to kindly & compassionately get back on it
A movement toward LOVE as the foundation of our way of BEING.
The feeling of “RESOURCEFULNESS”...that we as individuals have the capacity to raise our own vibration based on where we place our attention.
Ownership of our MOOD. And, may we see the value in cultivating a MOOD of Gratitude.

In my class, you can expect movement and meditation. My style is an eclectic fusion as my yoga teachers trained in dance, tai chi, kriya, and tantric philosophy.
-
I'm also an art teacher.
-
My hope is the practice of yoga inspires self-love in others, then that beauty of self-love spreads, and suddenly everyone loves one another, and the world is at peace.
-
I've been practicing yoga for over half of my life, both independently and with master teachers including Arkady Shirin, Dharma Mittra, and Jean Mazzei. In 2017, I completed my 200-hour teacher training with Yoga Garden SF.

My intention is for students to leave class with a sense of connection - to themselves, their own sense of joy, and to the world around them. Grounding breath, upbeat playlists, and a playful flow help us to remember why we're all here :)
-
Oooh. That's a tough one. Maybe that I really didn't enjoy my first few yoga classes? I would encourage anyone who has tried a class or two, but doesn't know if yoga is for them to check out different styles / teachers. That or the fact that I only answered to "Belle" at age 3.. I thought I was a Disney princess!
-
I hope that the practice of yoga reminds people of their own sense of wonder. There's so much freedom to be found in moving our bodies, in taking time away from our phones and screens, in smiling at a stranger, and in trying something new.
-
My years of ballet and dance training contribute a lot to my practice & my teaching style. I completed my 200 hour YTT in San Francisco at Yoga Flow and am grateful to count Anna Hughes, Lindsey Foreman, Libby Murfey and Kate Holcombe among my teachers. I'm also grateful to my teachers Julie & Kirin, as well as the rest of the incredible teachers through Outdoor Yoga <3

I recognize that every person arrives to the mat with a different experience. Yet I still strive to create a collective experience of unity. I begin with grounding breaths and a conscious warm up, then move through a sequential dynamic flow, then end with self loving relaxation. I love to incorporate consistency into my class to provide familiarity and comfort, but also provide variability and at times unpredictable flows to inspire myself and keep students engaged and active…and to have fun! I value creating accepting and empowering energy to all. I truly see the potential in each student, and try to provide them what they need in that moment.

I hope to share yoga as a vehicle for healing growth, expansion, connection, and acceptance. I hope the practice of yoga can inspire others to feel deeply connected - to themselves, to nature, to community, or to whatever their heart is longing for. Having the opportunity to guide others and flow alongside them is truly one of the biggest gifts of life I have experienced.
